In the mid-nineties business got bad. People in the neighborhood no longer had the money to purchase Connie's already discounted merchandise. Connie started to lose her cool. A friend turned Connie onto e-bay where she started to sell her merchandise for twice as much as she could at her shop, so in 1995 she closed the store and used her Ric Rac as a storage facility until the summer of 2006.

In 2006 Connie's first born son, Jojo, approached her and presented the idea
of turning the building into a performance space and a school for the arts. Connie liked the idea and gave him her blessing and support along with her husband, local lunatic Joe Brown. Connie's two sons had always been artists. Jojo, a film maker and drummer, and his little brother Frankie who is a painter and comedian.

Frankie's life long buddy Pete Pelulo shared a love for the stage with the brothers and began construction of what is now becoming known as “The Theater Of Blood” in the summer of 2006.

Connie couldn't be more thrilled with the outcome; a community theater and
school where local artists can meet, share,create and perform. Local artists of all types have donated instruments and art work, and the positivity is spreading and changing the neighborhood for the better each day.

In September the theater started having music and comedy recitals and a variety of classes and workshops ranging from comedy improv training to song writing classes. On any Saturday night you can find Connie enjoying one of the many imaginative performances that the theater offers. The goal is to get adults who are pissed back to 3rd grade(mentally), to make them regain contact with their passion, to make them have fun and be creative. Connie is even taking a painting class at Connie's Ric Rac.
